To the Brookview Community:
School is underway for a new year. We thank the Brookview Community for their attentiveness
to traffic safety as we welcomed back over 500 students at George H. Luck School. There are
many families, students, and parents walking, biking and driving to the school. Keeping
everyone safe is a community effort and we are grateful to you all.
We have over the last few years implemented many measures to reduce traffic congestion
around the school including: meeting spot signs for families; reserving the drive through lane for
yellow bus and daycare only; encouraging students to walk/bike in the good weather and using
AMA student patrollers. We know the area around the school is very busy and we appreciate
and thank you for your diligence in helping students get safely to and from school.
Walking dogs during school hours
We ask the Brookview community for your support while enjoying the walking paths at the back
of the school. If you are walking your dog during school hours please ensure they are on a leash
and we ask that you please not stop to let students pet your dog. Safety is our number one
priority and we thank you for supporting our student population.
We are so pleased to see many community members enjoying our tarmac activities after hours.
We are planning a number of service learning projects throughout the year and look forward to
the involvement of the greater community. Your generosity is amazing and this is what makes
the Brookview Community so special.
We’re hiring!
We are currently looking to hire lunch supervisors. This entails supervising students during the
lunch hour from 11:15-12:30pm. If you are interested please call our school office at
780-438-5011.
Community partnerships have always been the cornerstone of GHL and we thank you for your
diligence, generosity and kindness for the whole school community.
Enjoy the warm, sunny weather! Wishing you the best!
Yours in partnership,
Debra Miellke
Principal
