BIG NEWS, BROOKVIEW!
Construction is officially underway! With vendor selection in the final stages, work begins this May on Brookview Recreation Park, a vibrant, year-round recreation space for the whole community. It’s a space designed for all seasons, combining sports, gathering, and outdoor activity to bring Brookview residents together all year long. We’re excited to share that several new features will be included in the initial build:
- Covered players’ benches, wide access gates, and aluminum ramps to ensure easy entry, including for wheelchairs, strollers, or mobility aids.
- Improved accessibility throughout the space, with the potential to support sledge hockey and other inclusive programming.
- Space designed for year-round activities such as pickleball, basketball, table tennis, and additional future programming options to support active living for all ages.
CONSTRUCTION TIMELINE
- May: Safety fencing, site work, and rink demolition.
- May–June: Concrete and base preparation.
- July: Dasher boards, fencing, and lighting installation.
- August: Substantial completion, final inspection, and finishing touches.
- August: Phase 2 begins.
We’ll keep the community updated with any changes as construction progresses.
WHAT’S NEXT: PHASE 2
Phase 2 is comprised of the surrounding gathering space. This will include seating, landscaping, and other features to help transform the area into a vibrant, year-round destination for recreation, connection, and community events. Phase 2 has an estimated completion at the end of October.
