Thank you to the Brookview community for making Drinks for the Rink 2.0 a fun and memorable evening! A special shout-out to the volunteers who helped with setup, takedown and running the concessions. And a huge thank you to Remax for providing tents, and Meat Street Pies, Sea Change Brewing, and Pinocchio ice cream for providing delicious food and drink options.
We hope everyone is as excited as we are to see the recreation park project coming together. There will be lots more construction activity happening over the next few weeks!
We've kept to a stringent budget but are still looking for donations to finish the project and purchase ice maintenance and sports equipment.
To donate, please follow these two steps:
1) Fill out the online form so that we have your information. It can be accessed at brookviewcommunityleague.ca or through the Brookview Recreation Park website: bclrecreationpark.wixsite.com/brookviewrecreation.
2) Submit your donation by e-transfer to president@brookviewcommunityleague.ca or mail a cheque to Brookview Community League, 280 Bulyea Rd, Edmonton, AB T6R 1W5.
Also, please spread the word about the opportunity for corporate donations, which come with board advertising and will help with ongoing rink maintenance. If you have any questions about family or corporate donations, please email sports@brookviewcommunityleague.ca.
BCL has an AGM coming up (6 pm, Oct 2nd in the community hall) and we are in desperate need of volunteers! This is a good chance to join the board and help us manage our new facilities and run events. You can also participate by joining committees or working with BCL to organize specific programs. Please email us at vicepresident@brookviewcommunityleague.ca to discuss opportunities to get involved in the community.
Finally, don't forget to purchase your 2025-2026 community league membership and experience the new rink for yourself this winter (efcl.org/membership-purchase).
